Experiment Description

Experiment

Experiment E20    Investigation of The Characteristics of a Transistor (B)

Objectives
  • Investigate the "collector" characteristics of an n-p-n transistor
  • Investigate the input/output voltage characteristics of an n-p-n transistor
  • Investigate the saturating current of an n-p-n transistor
Description
In this activity, you will study the collector characteristics and the input/output voltage characteristics of a transistor. You will also investigate the saturation state of the transistor.

In Experiment 1, you will vary the second potentiometer P2 to see how the collector current Ib changes. The experiment is repeated using other settings of P1.

In Experiment 2, you will study the variation of collector current with the base current through a transistor with a load resistor.

In Experiment 3, you will vary the input voltage by the potentiometer and see how the output voltage varies.
