Experiment
E01 Electric Field Lines and Equipotential Lines
|
| Objectives |
- Study the patterns of electric fields setting up by electrodes of various shapes
- Study the patterns of equipotential lines setting up by electrodes of various shapes
|
|
| Description |
| In this activity, you will study both electric field pattern and equipotential lines.
In Experiment 1, you will set up an electric field in a non-conducting oil using an EHT. Semolina powders are spread and allowed to align along the electric field lines.
In Experiment 2, you will set up an electric field in a conducting plate. Using a sensitive light beam galvanometer, you will be able to plot equipotential lines on the conducting plate. |
