Experiment DL20    Operational Amplifier

Objectives
  • Study the open-loop configuration of an operational amplifier
  • Study the conversion of sine waves into square waves of different mark-space ratio
  • Study the characteristics of an inverting amplifier
  • Study the characteristics of a non-inverting amplifier
Description
In this activity, you will use the Voltage sensor to study the characteristics of an operational amplifier used in three applications:

In Experiment 1, you will study the open-loop configuration of the op amp. You will apply sine waves at the input and obtain a square wave at the output.

In Experiment 2, you will connect the op amp to form an inverting amplifier. You will apply sine waves at the input and study the waveform at the output for various amplitude of the sine waves.

In Experiment 3, you will connect the op amp to form a non-inverting amplifier. You will determine the voltage gain and how the output voltage varies with the input voltage.
