Experiment DL16    LC Oscillator

Objectives
  • Study the oscillation of voltage when a charged capacitor is connected across an inductor
  • Study the oscillation of voltage when a square wave is applied to an LC circuit
  • Appreciate the high sampling rate of a data-logger
Description
In this activity, you will make use of the high sampling rate of data-logger to study electromagnetic oscillation in an LC circuit.

In Experiment 1, you will use the Power output of the Interface Unit to charge a capacitor. When the charged capacitor is connected across the inductor, you will use a Voltage Sensor to monitor the oscillation of charge.

In Experiment 2, you will use the Power output of the Interface Unit to charge a capacitor. When the charged capacitor is connected across the inductor, you will use a Voltage Sensor to monitor the oscillation of the charge.
