Experiment
DL12 Light Intensity and Electrical Power
|
| Objectives |
- Study the relationship between the frequency of an a.c. source and the frequency of variation in light intensity from a light bulb
- Use the FFT display to display frequency spectrum and work out the frequency of a signal
- Study the relationship between the intensity of light and the d.c. voltage
- Appreciate the difference in the intensity of light between a.c. and d.c. sources

| Description |
| In this activity, you will make use of the high sensitivity of the Light Sensor to study the power output of a light bulb.
In Experiment 1, you will apply the a.c. (from the Interface) across the light bulb at 50 Hz and study the frequency of variation in light intensity.
In Experiment 2, you will apply the d.c. (from the Interface) across the light bulb and study the variation of light intensity with the voltage across the light bulb. |
