Experiment
DL04 Impulse
|
| Objectives |
- Study the variation of force with time during collision
- Verify that the area under F-t graph represents the change in momentum
- Investigate the force of impact with material during a collision
|
|
| Description |
| In this activity, you will use a Force Sensor to record the force of impact during a collision. An F-t graph will be plotted by the computer. You will also use a Motion Sensor to record the change in velocity. Impulse is calculated from the mass and the change in velocity. The calculated impulse is then compared with the area under the F-t graph.
