Experiment
DL02 Free Fall Acceleration
|
| Objectives |
- Measure the acceleration due to gravity using a motion sensor
- Demonstrate that the acceleration due to gravity is independent of the mass of an object
- Study the s-t and v-t graphs for a bouncing ball
|
|
| Description |
| In this activity, you will use a Motion Sensor to monitor the position of a falling object. Both the s-t and v-t graphs would be plotted by the computer. The acceleration due to gravity is obtained from the slope of the v-t graph.
In Experiment 1, you will record the position of a falling book.
In Experiment 2, you will record the position of a bouncing ball. |
