Experiment
B03 Water and Ice
|
| Objectives |
- Determine the specific heat capacity of water through electrical method
- Determine the specific latent heat of fusion of water using the method of mixture
- Judge the seriousness of heat loss from the heating curve of water by a heater
|

| Description |
| In this activity, you will determine the specific heat capacity (shc) and specific latent heat (slh) of fusion of water.
In Experiment 1, you will heat the water by electrical method. The energy supplied is obtained from the voltmeter and ammeter readings and the time recorded.
In Experiment 2, you will put ice cube into water and record the temperature change when all the ice are melted into water. |
