Experiment A02    Studying Centripetal Force

Objectives
  • Study the dependence of centripetal force on mass, radius of circle and rate of rotation
  • Appreciate the measurement of centripetal force using static method
Description
In this activity, you will use a Rotating Platform to study the centripetal force acting on a mass as it performs circular motion.

In Experiment 1, you will vary the radius and the period while keeping the centripetal force constant.

In Experiment 2, you will vary the centripetal force and the period while keeping the radius constant.
